Merriment at a Book Launch Party

A recap of yesterday’s grand afternoon at McIntyre’s Books in Fearrington Village, the venue for my Cold Heart launch party.

I love this bookstore!

An overflow crowd packed McIntyre’s mystery books room.

The room was full of friends, family, readers, and droppers-in.

The brilliant Marjorie Hudson introduced me.

Her speech made me sound amazing. It was an impossible billing to live up to.

I talked and smiled and read. I always think I’m an introvert, until this happens and I actually enjoy myself.

My granddaughter Chloe drew names and we gave away some heart pendants and a gift card to McIntyre’s.

Then I released my audience to enjoy food and drink, while I signed books, Prosecco at hand. (Skeletal lady is fancy, no?)

My husband Mac was the sommelier. The choices were Prosecco and Pelligrino. Hope people like the fizzy!

My daughter Melissa and granddaughter Amelia served delicious and plentiful food, much of which they prepared.

I was so pleased that my father Jim and sister Laura were there.

Afterward, I sat down to have a piece of jam cake with Suz Robinson, Jenn Young, Dad and Laura.

I’m grateful to McIntyre’s for hosting, Marjorie for introducing me, Laura for taking great pictures, Chloe & Amelia for being greeters, Melissa for food, Mac for all-around help, and everyone who attended, asked questions, and enjoyed the party.  I am blessed to have such good people in my life!
